ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday failed to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to record his statements in two supplementary references.
NAB Rawalpindi had summoned Nawaz to record his statement in Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investments supplementary references that are yet to be filed in the accountability court.
The supplementary reference is being prepared under NAB Director General (DG) Irfan Naeem Mangi and will be including documents the regional office has acquired from abroad.
The bureau is now likely to file references without his statement and the court may start hearing the case.
Nawaz had also kept away from NAB Lahore when he was summoned to record his statement over a supplementary reference regarding the Avenfield Properties against him a few weeks ago.
