SHIKARPUR: Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, speaker of Sindh Assembly has rejected all propaganda being spread by anti Pakistan Peoples Party factions that PPP would face tuff fight to win forthcoming general elections.
He claimed big victory with major support of masses in all provinces including Punjab in ensuing general elections to be held in 2018 because of PPP had been serving people of country without any discrimination in all respects and rendered many sacrifices for restoration of democratic process in country as well as Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and other PPP leaders and party workers also sacrificed lives for people to enable them to avail democratic constitutional, legal and moral rights.
Addressing local journalist at a function of Shikarpur Sindhi Pathan Bradary and All Sindhi Pathan Youth Shikarpur at residence of Agha Muneer Khan Pathan, Chairman Special People Foundation Shikarpur near Kiri Nawab Khan, Sindh Assembly speaker said that PPP has roots in people who believed in dynamic leadership of Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, therefore PPP was not in need of seeking support from any other political alliance to win election.
Replying to a question on parting ways from party by angry PPP leader and former provincial minister, Agha Taimoor Khan Pathan of Sultankot Town of Shikarpur, Siraj said that it was his personal thinking and decision to build his fate after leaving PPP. While no notification in this regard was issued till now by party central leadership despite Taimoor Khan joined Sindh Grande Democratic Alliance.
On another question he said that Malir SSP, Rao Anwar and other members of team were booked on terrorism, murder and kidnapping charges in Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case while they were also nominated in FIR lodged at Sachal Police Station in Karachi on complaint of Khan Muhammad Mahsud, father of deceased under concerned laws.
The investigation into this matter was being conducted by an inquiry committee comprising AIGP and CTD chief, Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, DIG East and DIG South Karachi, he added.
On the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto and Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah had taken serious notices on murder of Naqeebullah Mahsud and rejected wrong impression of some factions that investigation team was under pressure.
According to investigation team proper investigation was being conducted without any pressure.
He said that Rao Anwaar and his policemen involved in murder cases of Naqeebullah Mahsud and other innocent persons belonging to other communities including Pathan community in Karachi should severally be punished under law.
Siraj said that police officers were fully responsible to provide security to people, but they had no license to kill innocent people through fake encounters. To a question about delimitation, he said that Election Commission of Pakistan wanted to hold general upcoming elections according to old revenue delimitation system, but in spite of that no notification was issued in this regard so far. +However, if troubles were created in making delimitation against benefits of people the politicians as well as elected representatives will approach authorities concerned through assembly platform and protest campaigns.
